1. PNP monitoring action center

Philippine National Police were very confident on the success of their monitoring of the upcoming May 2010 Election.

PDIR Renato DF Heredia said that the PNP will serve as the official monitoring and broadcasting hub of the people.

The PNP aims to keep an eye on the incident that may happen on the Election and to give real time and accurate updates to the public through the media, PDDG Edgardo E Acuña said.

The PNP will receive the first hand information through internet, skype, yahoo and also cell phone from each center designated area.

The Monitoring Action Center will be open during and after May 10 elections 24/7.

It will be operated by reliable personnel from the Public information office, PCRG, the National Operation Center, IDMS, Legal Service and the SSS will act directly on the questions being asked the people.

The arriving of information from distinct sources will be distributed to the stakeholders after uniting in the media center.

Police Director General Jesus A Verzosa said that they “coordinating, meeting and working with the COMELEC with the policies and regulations in the upcoming election”.

Police Director General Verzosa reassured the people on an accurate, factual and balance reporting regarding the election and also was looking forward that the contribution should not come only from the PNP, AFP and COMELC but also from everybody to help and educate each other. 2. CTs killed a CAFGU and his wife

A Civilian Auxiliary Forces Geographical Units (CAFGU) member and his wife were killed when suspected Communist Terrorists (CTs) stopped their vehicle and shot in Surigao del Sur.

The fatalities were identified as Persinifles Pelarion Mayordomo, 52 years old, CAFGU member, assigned at 23th IB Cafgu Detachment located at Greenfield, Sta Juana, Tagbina, Surigao del Sur and his wife Anita.

Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the shooting incident happened at about 2:00 PM last Monday in Sitio Bingcongan, Barangay Bigaan, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Investigation revealed that the victims were on their way home with their son Reynante and daughter Gemma riding a single motorcycle driven by his son when more or less seven CTs stooped and shot them.

Reynante was able to run though his sister Gemma was wounded on her arm and was immediately brought to Bislig District Hospital.

After the incident, the suspects fled on the way to unknown direction.

In addition, CTs was hunting the CAFGU who was a rebel returnee.

Authorities are now conducting follow-up investigation to the incident. (Rose Anne Valledo)


3. PNP personnel died

A PNP personnel died when shot numerous times by two unidentified suspects in Candelaria Quezon.

The fatality was identified as SPO2 Federico De Guia, 39 years old, married, assigned at Candelaria MPS, Quezon PPO and resident of Barangay Masin Norte, Candelaria Quezon.

Reports showed that the shooting incident happened at about 11:20 PM last Monday on the distinct area of the LDB Sport Arena parking area in Barangay Mangilag Sur, Candelaria, Quezon.

Investigation revealed that while the victim was walking on the way to his car, a Mitsubishi GLI with plate number of THR -821, in the parking lot area one of the suspects unexpectedly came out and shot the victim numerous times at when the victim was about to open the door of his car at close range using a short firearms.

The body of the victim was immediately brought to United Candelaria Doctor’s Hospital and moved to Mt Carmel Hospital in Lucena but died there while being treated.

The authorities recovered seven fire bullet shells and two deformed slug for cal.45 pistol on the crime scene.

Authorities are now conducting follow-up investigation to the incident. (Rose Anne Valledo)
