Firearms violation

A military resemble truck possessing firearms were stopped by the members of RPSB while conducting checkpoint operation in Abra.

The authorities identified the driver of the truck as George Taguinod, 38 years old, married and a Municipal Councilor of Lagayan, Abra.

Reports showed that the members of RPSB were positioned at Vira Patrol Base in Alaoa, Tineg, Abra at about 5:40 PM last Saturday.

The operation resulted the confiscation of ; one (1) ELISCO M16 rifle with SN: RP164413; one (1) COLT M16 rifle with tampered SN; one (1) Baby Armalite rifle with SN: RP242974; one (1) COLT caliber 45 pistol with SN: 880321; two (2) grenades; ten (10) short magazines and three (3) long magazines for M16 rifle; one (1) magazines for cal.45 pistol; assorted ammunition for M16 rifle and cal.45 pistol; two (2) camouflage bandoliers; and three(3) rifle bags.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle was owned by Cromwell Luna, a mayoralty candidate of Tineg, Abra.

The Abra PPO took the driver with seven occupants identified as: Sonny Boy Bengay, 27 years old; Wilfredo Barsamira, 32 years old; Ludring Silbao, 30 years old; Jemrick Pasigen, 19 years old; Louie Tejeros, 16 years old; and Alcedo Runid, 15 years old, for additional Investigation.
