Before we went to BIR presscon in Quezon City at 10:00 am, I wrote one article from the journal could still submit at least one to ate Zai.

2. BIR, Collection of income tax

Commissioner Joel Tan Torres said that the overall income tax deadline date of April 15 was successful, that there were lesser numbers of last minute filers, the officers did not have to extend the deadline date.

The Electronic File Payment System Gateway by internet did not break down unlike on what happened in the past three years it consistently broke down due to large numbers of people filing and unable to file electronically, Commissioner Tan Torres said.

The total income tax Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) collected this year was 57.5 Billion Pesos up to April 19 last Monday from the total collection goal for the month of April 86.2 Billion Pesos. There are 28.7 Billion Pesos further to collect.

BIR expected to collect from April 20 up to the end of the month collections from VAT and percentage tax.

Compared to the collections of income tax last year the total amount of the collections will go above the collections last year.

The casualty of the typhoons that occurred last year affect and reduce the collection of 7.4 Billion Pesos of income tax.
Commissioner Tan Torres also said that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was failed to settle 120 million pesos in tax requirement with the BIR.

January to March the excess over the collection was 16.8 Billion pesos for the first quarter.

The BIR will be posting the top 100 list taxpayers last year and this year for nationwide basis. (Rose Anne Valledo)

Work under pressured again (hehehe). Actually I really did not understand what was Commissioner Tan Torres talking because it was all statistics (nose bleed...). We came there without any background on what was the presscon about. We have to submit the article by 2:00 pm and I submitted my article around 3:30 pm because the presscon start late and we traveled back to Camp Crame and then make our article...
